"Niels Bohr was quite conscious

 of parallelism between its concept

 of complementarity

and the Chinese thought.

When he visited China in 1937,

 at one time when its interpretation

of the quantum theory

was already completely worked out,

 he was deeply impressed

by the ancestral Chinese idea

of pole opposite and consequently,

 he carried a keen interest to

the Far-Eastern culture. 

 Ten years later,

 Bohr was made knight

in reward of his eminent scientific achievements

and his significant contributions

to the Danish cultural life;

 and, when it had to choose

a weapon for its blazon,

its choice was made on the Chinese symbol

 of You have-Chi

 representing the relation complementary

 to the opposite prototypes

 yin and yang. 

 By choosing this symbol for its blazon

with the currency sunt

 complementa Opposed

("the opposites are complementary"),

 Niels Bohr recognized the deep harmony

between old Far-Eastern wisdom

and Western modern science.  "
